Dust off the Treat Yourself Stamp set

This is just one of those sets I won't ever sell!!  I just love it.  Well, the lady in Mops that won my gift basket asked me if I would be willing to make her a few thank you cards.  She was hosting a marriage conference at her church, and the theme was movies.  She was making up some thank you gifts for the speakers and wanted some cute cards to go with it.  I said sure, no problem.  I know just the set I want to use. 

 I used the spiral punch to create the movie strip.  And of course the ticket punch on the sentiment.  I also pulled out the old Liquid Applique to add a lot of dimension to the popcorn.  So what do you think - did they turn out cute? 

 

I would have added some more ribbon or glitz to liven it up a bit more, but when you have to do cards in bulk on short notice, then sometimes simple is the best way to go!

Gift Basket for MOPS

We did a take on Oprah's "My Favorite Things" for our MOPS meeting today.  Of course my favorite thing was stamping.  I hand stamped over 60 bags and tags!  Wow - aren't you impressed!  Not really, I only stamped about 6 of each and then through the magic of color copiers, came out with 60.  I did have to cut and paste each one though.  But it didn't take that long. It was lots of fun.  Our theme this year is Adventures in Mothering based on Ephesians 3:17-19 - "And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, ¹⁸may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, ¹⁹and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."  So the theme is a carnival/roller coaster setting.  So the Time for Fun set and wheel were perfect. Here is a bag and tag that I made. 

Then some of us also donated a door prize to go along with it.  This is what I made up. Again, cased from SCS.  I used the Haiku paper instead of the Urban Oasis.  I added a pen and big paper clib bookmark, and a few more picture holders. 

Birthday Card

Here is the birthday card I made to along with the framed page.  It was lots of fun to make. 

 

I used Pink Pirouette and Riding hood red.  The DSP is from the Bella Rose Collection.  I used some of the micro bead duos to accent the cupcake with sprinkles.  I also used the #1 from the chipboard.  I covered it in paper, then glued it down and cut out around the edge.  I got to use the new scallop oval punch.  Hope you enjoy!  Have a great day.

Another Baby Gift

So what do you get for a friend who's baby is turning the big "1", and who has everything?  The little girl has an older sister and a very thrifty momma who buys toys waayyy in advance.  So what do you do?  I can only do what I know - make a paper crafted gift.  So I made a scrapbook page that I will put in a frame.  I will also make a card (later post) and some of the cupcake thank you cards to go with it.  Nothing fancy!!

So I totally cased the page from SCS.  But I did get to try out a few new products.  I used the top notes die cut to cut out the frame.  Then I just used my trusty tombow glue pen and put glue all around the edges, then dipped it in the  chocolate Super Nova Fine Glitter.  (I can't wait to use this on the Fifth Avenue Floral.)     Of course I used my cricut - I cut out 1 from the George cart.  I used the DS to expand the 1 and make it a little fatter.  Then I cut on the 1 on chipboard and the sticky pages. The sticky pages/letter and shapes work great with the bead duos and glitter.  Then I added the pink bead duo to cover the 1.  

Other supplies include: Candy Cane Lane DSP,  textured Close to Cocoa paper, Bella Rose DSP, Short Order Alphabet, Alphabits, and Crazy for Cupcakes.

I used the scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, and Tart & Tangy rubons.   I hope you enjoy it! 

Flowers from Occasions Mini

So many of you have asked how to make the flowers found on pg 9 of the Occasions Mini 2009.  Well, I finally found the pattern.  Here you go:

This is just a pattern - there are no instructions.  I assume you just layer the different colors of paper.  Have fun - can't wait to see your creations!

Another Cricut/Stamping love affair

This is a wonderful name frame my good friend Aimee made for her friend as a baby gift.  She incorporated some animals from Cricut Animal Kingdom, and also some stamped images from Wild about You.  She also used chalks and crystal effects to add some dimension to the animals.  Aimee - Great Job!!!

Cricut and Stamps - what a lovely duo

Yes, I am back at it, I haven't forgotten my blog already.

I got everything cleaned up from this weekend's cricut class and PMS crop.  We had a great time at both.  I learned so much more about my cricut that I had no idea it could do.  So I thought I would try out a few things and I also needed a b-day present and card for a good friend of mine whose b-day is today.

I made a name frame from the cricut.  She always says she is only an expert in Disney, Dogs and dentistry.  So I put all three of those things on her frame.  Plus her little girl.

I also pulled a card from my favorite's on SCS to case.  I have been wanting to make this card forever, and this is perfect for my friend.  I embossed the flower 2 times with versamark and clear EP.  The 3rd time I used Iridescent Ice EP.  I also pulled out the old Purely Pomegranate for my paper color.  I hope she likes her frame and card.

 

     

3 days in a row

Can you believe it - 3 days in a row.  It is amazing what organization can do for you.  I am still in the process of cleaning out the clutter around my home.  It is just amazing how much paper can accumulate and multiply!!  There just seems to be stuff everywhere, and it keeps growing instead of getting smaller.  My trash can is so full!  I digress - the reason for me saying all this is I am getting ready to have another rubber garage sale.  I have cleaned out and cleared up the mess.  I have lots of stickers, paper, stamps and other misc items.  I am going to open it up to everyone who comes to the Cricut class/ PMS night first.  Well see what's left from that and set another date if we need to.  If you haven't RSVP'd for the class and PMS night, it's not too late.  Just email or call me.

So here is another card from the card club this year.  It is not my usual colors (pink, black, brown), but I really like the way it turned out.  It again is cased from SCS.  Thanks to all those wonderful ladies who keep me loaded with great projects. 

We used the markers and ink pads to provide the color, and used the aqua painters to give it that water color effect.  Of course we used Stazon for the outline.  hope you enjoy.  Have a great week!

My Favorite Things Monday

  This is a card I cased from SCS.  I love the colors.  I used the ALWAYS stamp set, this is my favorite stamp set right now.  I also used versamark and white ep, and embossed on the DSP Rasberry Tart.   I love the effect.  I need to do this more often.  Hope you enjoy!
